Katharine Hayhoe

Katharine Hayhoe is a climate scientist with a simple but powerful message: fixing climate change isn’t about saving the planet — it’s about saving the people, the places, and the things we love. For 30 years, she has studied how climate change affects our lives, and just as importantly, how to talk about it in ways that move people to act. Her TED talk has been viewed more than 4 million times; she hosted the PBS series Global Weirding, wrote the national bestseller Saving Us, and writes the weekly newsletter Talking Climate, read by nearly 200,000 people in over 150 countries.

She is a Horn Distinguished Professor at Texas Tech University, a lead author on U.S. National Climate Assessments under three administrations, and has been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People and a United Nations Champion of the Earth.
